So fucking pissed at my mother.
I was detailing our little plot to torment my cousin, and she made a comment about how Papa hated her because she was the unwanted daughter-in-law. I rolled my eyes and told her that she's been divorced from my father for about twelve years, so she should get over it. She informed me, in a rather rude/hopeful tone, "Oh, maybe when he's dead."
I am literally shaking with rage. I told her to not speak of my family that way, and she walked out of the room without acknowledging me. I followed her and told her that I'm very angry with her, the ten-seconds-from-slapping anger. She just said, "Oh well."
So, to be slightly more mature, I just told her to finish making dinner herself, as I was done.
I'm just sitting upstairs, hopefully avoiding my mother for the rest of the day. Dinner shall be interesting. If I go downstairs for it, which is highly debatable at this moment in time.
Seriously, she talks about other people holding grudges. What a hypocrite. I'm not even angry at my father, or my grandparents for what they did. So I don't know why she hasn't gotten over what people to whom she has no relation did to her so long ago. Christ.
Yes, I'm angry. Which is the reason I'm staying away from her. Perhaps this way, I won't slap her. Trust me, I'm tempted.
This wouldn't be as big of a deal if Papa weren't ill, with many close calls. There have been a few winters where we thought he wouldn't make it, so that comment was entirely uncalled for.
Argh. I'm done obsessing. I hate when I do it, but I just had to rant for a minute. *glowers*

Its been an interesting weekend. Filled with one part epic win, and many parts Epic Fail.
On Friday I wanted to book next year's trip right then; on Saturday I wanted to crawl in a hole and die.
The cosplay scene is changing. I don't know how much I like it.
I need spares of everything.
I think I will only do no more than 2 paid shoots per day per con. And I'm going to charge a bit more when I do charge.
I miss cosplaying.
Now I'm just taking a break- I'm being good and not buying anything, though I did find a Kino no Tabi artbook that's full of images I've never seen before. It makes me all excited to finish that costume now. (or just cave and remake it).
I also realize that the only two things I like to do at cons is photography and talking to my friends. I only ever run panels, instead of going to them. With my camera nearly useless atm and my gang busy with other things, I'm just kinda sitting and watching the traffic flow.
This moment of exestentialism brought to you by PST, sleep deprivation, 30 degree weather and cabs that never come.
Oh, and lack of food.

I think this currently falls under the category of "venting on a minor annoyance" at the moment, but if I don't say something it stands a good chance of becoming a full-fledged rant.
Anyhow, people have recently ranted about fic headers and some irksome trends in what people do (or don't) put in them, but I don't recall seeing much about the fic banners/"cover art" that are now common in more than one of my fic comms.

In other news that isn't nearly as important, I am injured. I hurt my left knee just below the kneecap on the inside section and the inside of my left ankle. They have been hurting for a little over a week. I've been wearing braces and haven't been on my feet much trying to rest as well as taking hot message baths in my parent's bathtub that I forgot had jets in it.

Why me?
Okay, so I do know why and yes, it is entirely my fault/doing, but why do I have to write long fics. Why can't I write a short, uncomplicated fic? Why oh why do I have to write stories that excel 10,000 words? *bangs head on the desk* I need to write two fics, one for each of the ficathon I have entered, and the first is due on Jul 28, and first I had to chose a fandom I've never written for (it was either that one or one that I would had to do research since it's a period fandom) and come up with a story that's both interesting and keeps in the spirit of the show. So I told myself, okay, something short (3000-5000 words) and then I can focus on my entry for the NCIS ficathon, which is long (about 20,000-40,000 words) and due Sep 5, which gives me plenty of time to write it (I hope!). Of course when I was considering the NCIS ficathon entry, I thought, write a short fic for the Family Haven and focus primarily on the NCIS ficathon, but oh no, my brain decides, hey, she doesn't have much else to do, so why not give her two long fics to worry about!!!! And I won't even get on the plot bunnies who would not let me sleep last night and when they did, they invaded my dreams!!!! ARG!!!!!

Two things
Okay, I have an unhealthy fondness for crossovers, yes? So I've been reading a lot of HP crossovers. However there's this pattern I'm seeing that's bothering the hell out of me.
I don't know about you guys, but if I'm the headmaster of a famous school I would actually interview the people before hiring them. Or at least somehow contact them before sending them a letter with "lol I hired you to be the new DADA teacher." *facepalm*
On an unrelated note, I'm not claiming to be a penis expert or anything, but I seriously, seriously doubt any guy's going to be up and ready for sex while he's freaking bleeding to death.
